Frequently Asked Questions

What are your qualifications?

I am a qualified graduate of the American School of Piano Tuning (2022). With my vast experiences as a musician, I understand both the technical and creative aspects of music production.

Is my piano tunable?

Probably! If you have a piano that is old and/or hasn't been tuned in a while, it may take multiple visits and pitch raises to get it in perfect tune.

How often should I tune my piano?

The time between tunings is up the owner. My recommendation is 6-9 months based on how often the piano is played. Pianos should be tuned no less than once a year.

How long does tuning take?

Due to the innumerable variables that I've come across in tunings, please allot for 2-3 hours for your appointment.

Do I need to be home while you're tuning my piano?

No. I just need access to the piano and a way to receive payment after servicing.

Does it need to be quiet in my house for you to tune my piano?

Yes! Please limit the noise in your home for the duration of the piano tuning. Turn off the TV and radio; ask kids to play outside; save the laundry and vacuuming for another time; etc. While it is possible to tune successfully with a little noise in the house, these steps will make it easier, more efficient, and will yield a better tune.

Do I need to clean off my piano before you tune it?

Yes! Clear all music books, photos, pencils, and personal items off the piano. This need to be done so I can access the tuning pins inside the piano. This will save time and give you the chance to move fragile items safely.

How far will you travel to tune a piano?

I am willing to travel. For any booking outside of a 15-mile radius of 61536, a $2 per mile fee will be charged.
